ABỊA STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY RESUMES PLENARY, SCREENS TWO COMMISSIONER NOMINEES

Mr. Speaker also during the plenary announced the appointment of Mrs Virginia Akasiobi as the Deputy Clerk of the Abia State House Of Assembly

The Abia State House Of Assembly resumed plenary after her annual recess which commenced on July 29th, 2025.

The plenary session resumed with an Opening Prayer by Hon. Dennis Rolland Chinwendu (Isialangwa South)

The house adopted its votes and proceedings of the previous plenary held on Tuesday 29th July, 2025 as correct and as a working document after the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa had welcomed his colleagues back from the annual recess.

The Speaker read out a letter from the Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti requesting for the Screening and confirmation of two commissioner nominees: Mr. Chiemela Charles Uzoije
and Dr. Mrs Salome Nkemakolam Obiukwu

The House confirmed the Nomination of Mr. Chiemela Charles Uzoije
and Dr. Mrs Salome Nkemakolam Obiukwu following their Screening at the Executive Session.

The second reading of H.A.B 34: The Abia State Real Estate Regulatory Bill, 2025 sponsored by the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Augustine Okezie and the second reading of H.A.B 35: The Abia State Waterways Authority Bill, 2025 sponsored by Hon. Lewis Chinemerem Obianyi were deferred to a future legislative date.
